A wonderfully tense pyscho-thriller, perfect for anyone who's ever hated their boss.

A Few Modern Classics: Hollow Knight, Night in the Woods, Outer Wilds, Portal, Undertale

I call them modern classics for a reason.

Animal Well

Like the name implies, a well of game, always with more depth than you thought. Try to figure it out without a guide, but don't be afraid to turn to one when you need to.

The Beginner's Guide

One of the rarest of things, a non-fiction video game. Produced by Davey Wreden, the creator of The Stanley Parable, The Beginner's Guide is a short guided tour through some games produced by one of Wreden's acquaintances.

Disco Elysium

Perhaps my favorite video game, Disco Elysium is an RPG about being an alchoholic cop trying to solve a murder in eastern europe. It's also about failure, and hope, and communism, and it has an ending that made me tear up. I recommend this game in the strongest possible words.

Gorogoa

A short puzzle game about time. Beautiful beyond compare.

Heaven's Vault

A wonderful game set in a fascinating setting, Heaven's Vault is a game about decyphering the language of your long-dead ancestors, and discovering the true history of the world you inhabit. It can be a bit janky at times, sadly, but it's still well worth playing.

Manifold Garden

A wonderful exploration of infinte space.

Primordia

A point-and-click video game in the style of the old LucasArts classics. You play as a robot, eking out a meager living in the post-apocalypse, on a quest to recover your energy source.

Rain World

Beautiful - and absurdly difficult at times - Rain World sees you control a small creature trying to survive in the ruins of a massive industrial complex. There is a lovely story to be found, which touches on themes of life, death, and the preference for one over the other, but you really have to go looking for it.

Tunic

A Zelda-like wherein you play as a cute little fox on their quest to do... something. Like all games, Tunic tells you how to play it. Unlike most games, it does so with an instruction manual in a language you don't (yet) read (you don't actually need to translate the manual to beat the game, but you should give it a shot). Has a much more interesting story than it first seems.
